My laparoscopy is this Wednesday. Two days of work and then it will be here. I am busy trying to get substitute teacher plans together for this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It is always hard to do sub plans and try to tell someone else how to be me in my classroom! One day is weird enough but three days of sub plans is proving to be interesting.
Right now I am just trying to keep my mind busy to pass the time away. I saw my RE on Thursday for my pre-op appointment and he helped me to feel a little bit more calm about things. He is the definition of calm. It seems as though not much phases him.
Now I just have to remember to not take my vitamins, stay away from paid meds (which I usually do anyway), not eat cottage cheese, on the day of surgery don't use: lotion, makeup, jewelry, perfume, wedding ring, etc.
I can do this. (I guess this post is kind of my pep talk!) :)
Yes, you can do this! I can relate also to the challenge of making sub plans. I'm sure the kids will be just fine! If you know who your sub is, perhaps you could talk to him/her in advance?
ReplyDeletewishing you the best of luck. I promise you will be ok. I had a lap in Oct '09 and 4 days later I was 80% back to myself (one week back in the gym). The first 3 days I was super tired, more than in pain. I took hardly any pain meds and was able to get away with just using advil and heating pads. Get yourslef lots of things to watch on tv and somebody to give you a little tlc and all will be fine.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Message me if you have any questions.
Thinking of you!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck! Hopefully the lap will give you a few answers! Good luck with the sub plans, I know how much of a pain they are. BUT, as someone who has been subbing for several years I have to say, I always appreciate every ounce of effort the teacher has put into them! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck honey! Make sure you take it easy, okay???/
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I will be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog but wanted to say 'good luck'!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a great doc. My lap experience was really very easy. Actually, the most pain I had afterward was my throat from the airway they used! (It was just kind of like a sore throat without the cold) Advil did the trick. No pain at all in the teeny, tiny incision areas. And no pain in the shoulders from the gas they pump into you. I'm sure you'll do great and it will be good to just know what's going on in there! Best of luck!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the lap tomorrow, i'll be scheduling my third sometime in the next month here. i got pregnant on my second iui after my second lap (i wasn't ttc after my first lap) so there is definitely hope for you! will you be doing lupron therapy too? i was on it for three months after my second lap. i live in michigan too :)
ReplyDeleteyes! he is my doctor! it is a small world isn't it? i don't know if you have had a lap yet or not, but it is a pretty mellow surgery and doesn't take too long to recover from most of the time. i have another blogger friend who lives in grand rapids, i *think* she sees dr. dodds but i am not positive, not sure if i am remembering correctly. anyway, i am leaving her blog address in case you want to check it out. just so you know though, she's another who has had success, i have been where you are and i know that reading the blogs of people who have had their babies already can sometimes sting a little... on the bright side, it sounds like you and i have similar infertility issues and we also have the same doctor, i got pregnant after being treated by him, i think that means things are looking good for you!! i will check back to see how the lap goes, good luck!!
